ELCC 2026-10-29: Little dots, big discoveries!
This ELCC classroom video was shared on 2026-10-29, documenting how children learn, explore and connect through everyday play.
Original ELCC caption: Little dots, big discoveries! 🍂🎨💛 Sometimes, the simplest materials spark the most wonderful creativity. With colourful paint, cotton swabs, and autumn-inspired shapes, our little learners are exploring patterns, experimenting with colours, and expressing their ideas one little dot at a time! Activities like these give children opportunities to practise fine-motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and early mark-making skills. And creating alongside friends brings opportunities to observe, share ideas, and learn from one another. 🌈 At Early Learning Childcare Centre, we believe the joy of learning is often found in exploring, experimenting, and discovering—not just in the finished artwork. Every little mark is part of the journey! 📍 Port Coquitlam • Coquitlam • Maple Ridge, BC 🌐 www.earlylearningpoco.com #EarlyLearningChildcareCentre #PlayBasedLearning #DotPainting #FineMotorSkills #CreativeLearning #PreschoolArt #EarlyChildhoodEducation #LearningThroughPlay #BCChildcare
What this experience illustrates: hands-on materials and supportive relationships can encourage curiosity, communication, confidence and early development. Children benefit from open-ended opportunities rather than only a fixed final result.
