At Early Learning Childcare Centre, we believe that some of the most meaningful learning happens through everyday childhood experiences.

At our Brickwater location in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, children have opportunities to explore, create, move, imagine, and discover new things through play.

These activities may appear simple, but they offer valuable opportunities for early childhood development.

Learning Through Hands-On Exploration

Building toys, sorting objects, and exploring different materials encourage children to observe, experiment, and discover how things work.

Through these experiences, children can practise problem-solving, coordination, creativity, and independence.

Imagination and Social Development

Pretend play provides opportunities for children to express ideas, explore everyday situations, communicate, and develop social understanding.

Playing alongside others also creates natural opportunities to practise cooperation, patience, and sharing.

Movement and Discovery

Physical play allows children to develop body awareness, coordination, confidence, and balance.

Whether they're exploring movement activities or practising new physical skills, children benefit from opportunities to discover what their bodies can do at their own pace.

Books, Language, and Connection

Early literacy begins long before children learn to read independently.

Looking through picture books, listening to stories, and sharing reading experiences help children become familiar with language, storytelling, and communication.

Books can also create meaningful opportunities for connection between children and educators.

The Role of Our Educators

Play-based learning doesn't mean children are left to learn without guidance.

Early childhood educators thoughtfully observe, encourage, and support children's interests while creating environments that invite exploration and discovery.

We're grateful to the educators at our Brickwater location for the care, patience, and attention they bring to children's everyday learning experiences.

Growing Together at Brickwater

From imaginative play to shared stories and hands-on discoveries, everyday experiences help children learn about themselves and the world around them.

Sometimes, the little moments really do make the biggest difference.
